I am (among many other things) a security researcher, hardware and software developer for embedded systems and a Linux Kernel developer.

You can find more information about me at http://laforge.gnumonks.org/ or my blog.

At some point in 2005 I started to become interested in DECT security, and started by reading the various available public documentation. One thing I found particularly worth noting is a quote from the DECT security spec: Privacy in residential applications is a desirable marketing option. (ETSI EN 300 175-7 Ch. A6). In fact, I found it so important that I made it my default e-mail signature for the last four years.

Throughout the last years, I tried to put various people interested in DECT security research together, which in early 2008 led to the (closed) 'dect-security' mailing list. Unfortunately my many other projects (last but not least GSM security research) didn't allow me to spend much time on actual technical work for deDECTed.org.

So apart from inventing the deDECTEd.org name, hosting the infrastructure and serving as a legal scapegoat in the whois record and imprint of this website, I try to help with my knowledge of technology law, mostly gained as part of my work for the CCC and gpl-violations.org
